Let us assume two angles x and y

Now,

x and y are two angles making a complementary angle pair and x is greater 45o

Therefore,

x + y = 90o

y = 90o – xo

As xo > 45o


- xo < - 45o

Add  90o on both sides to get,

90o - xo < 90o - 45o
yo < 90o - 45o

yo < 45o
Hence,

Angle y will be lesser than 45o.
