∠SBE = ∠BST = 40° (alternate interior angles)
As Diagonals of a rhombus bisect at right angles.

In Δ TSO,
∠STO + ∠OST = ∠EOS (Exterior angle property)
⇒ x + 40° = 90°
⇒ x = 90° - 40°
⇒ x = 50°

So, y - x = 90° - 50°
