Q. 5 D5.0( 2 Votes )

Solve the followi

Answer :

Comparing equation x2 — 3√6x + 12 = 0 with ax2 + bx + c = 0 we get

a = 1, b = – 3√6 and c = 12

Discriminant (D) = b2 – 4ac

D = (– 3√6)2 – 4(1)(12)

D = (32)(√6)2 – 48

D = 9 × 6 – 48

D = 54 – 48

D = 6

D > 0 implies roots are real and distinct and given by

and

and

Therefore x = 2√6 and x = √6
