# If sec θ = 2, then find the values of other t–ratios of angle θ.

Answer :

Given: sec θ = 2

We know that,

Let,

BC = 1k and AC = 2k

where, k is any positive integer.

In right angled ∆ABC, we have

(AB)^{2} + (BC)^{2} = (AC)^{2} [by using Pythagoras theorem]

⇒ (AB)^{2} + (1k)^{2} = (2k )^{2}

⇒ (AB)^{2} + k^{2} = 4k^{2}

⇒ (AB)^{2} = 4k^{2} – k^{2}

⇒ (AB)^{2} = 3k^{2}

⇒ AB = k√3

Now, we have to find the value of other trigonometric ratios.
