Arun and Ta

Answer :

Given that,

P(AS) = P(Arun’s selection)

P(AN) = P(Arun’s rejection)

P(TN) = P(Tarun’s rejection)

P(TS) = P(Tarun’s selection)

We need to find the probability that at least one of them will be selected

P(Satone) = P(Selecting at least one of them)

P(Satone) = P(selecting only Arun) + P(selecting only Tarun) + P(Selecting both)

Since selection of each person is an independent event their probabilities multiply each other

The required probability is .
