Find the LC

Answer :

Given terms: –

x2y + xy2, x2 + xy

Formula used: –

LCM = Least Common Multiple

Means it is the lowest term by which every element must be

divided completely;

x2y + xy2 = x × y × x + x × y × y

= x × y × (x + y)

x2 + xy = x × x + x × y

= x × (x + y)

first find the common factors in all terms

Common factor = (x + y) × x

then multiply the remaining factors of terms in common

factor to get the LCM

= (x + y) × x × (x)

= x3 + yx2

Conclusion: –

The LCM of given terms [x2y + xy2, x2 + xy] is x3 + yx2
