Formula used: –

LCM = Least Common Multiple

Means it is the lowest term by which every element must be

divided completely;

x²y + xy² = x × y × x + x × y × y

= x × y × (x + y)

x² + xy = x × x + x × y

= x × (x + y)

⇒ first find the common factors in all terms

Common factor = (x + y) × x

⇒ then multiply the remaining factors of terms in common

factor to get the LCM

= (x + y) × x × (x)

= x³ + yx²

The LCM of given terms [x²y + xy², x² + xy] is x³ + yx²
