b² – 4ac > 0 for real roots

When we compare the above quadratic equation with the generalized one we get,

ax² + bx + c = 0

a = 2

b = -4

c = 3

⟹ (-4)² – (4 × 2 × 3)

⟹ 16 – 24

⟹ -8

The answer is negative which implies that the quadratic equation does not have real roots that is they have imaginary roots.
