Q. 114.4( 21 Votes )

# If x = a and y = A. 3 and 5

B. 5 and 3

C. 3 and 1

D. - 1and - 3

Answer :

Solving the equations -

x - y = 2 and

x + y = 4;

adding them,

2x = 6

x = 3;

subtracting them,

2y = 2

y = 1;

so, a = 3 and b = 1 is the solution of the equations.
