(x – 1) is the factor of f(x) if f(1) = 0


Here, we have


f(1) = 2 × 14 + 9 × 13 + 6 × 12 – 11 × 1 – 6


= 2 + 9 + 6 – 11 – 6


= 17 – 17


= 0


Therefore,


(x – 1) is the factor of (2x4 + 9x3 + 6x2 – 11x – 6)
