Q. 1 B4.2( 17 Votes )

# Use suitable identities to find the following products

(x - 5) (x - 5)

Answer :

(x - 5) (x - 5) = (x – 5)^{2}

Using identity (a – b)^{2} = a^{2} – 2ab + b^{2}

Here a = x and b = 5

⇒ (x - 5) (x - 5) = x^{2} – 2 × x × 5 + 5^{2}

⇒ (x - 5) (x - 5) = x^{2} – 10x + 25

Therefore (x - 5) (x - 5) = x^{2} – 10x + 25
