Sum of two numbers is 95. If one exceeds the other by 15, find the numbers.
Let the number be x.
The other number is 15 more than the number x.
Therefore, other number is x + 15. [ given second number exceeds first by 15]
Now, x + (x + 15) = 95 [ given sum of numbers to be 95]
2 x = 95-15
2 x = 80
Therefore, one number is 40 and other number is 40+15 = 55
