Find p(0), p(1) and p(2) for each of the following polynomials.
p(t) = (t - 1) (t + 1)
Answer :
p(t) = (t - 1) (t + 1)
p(t) = t2 + t - t - 1
⇒ p(t) = t2 – 1
⇒ p(0) = (0)2 – 1
⇒ p(0) = 0– 1
⇒ p(0) = -1
And,
⇒ p(1) = (1)2 – 1
⇒ p(1) = 1– 1
⇒ p(1) = 0
And,
⇒ p(2) = (2)2 – 1
⇒ p(2) = 4– 1
⇒ p(2) = 3
