Given:

Radius of the circle = 7 cm

Diameter of the circle = 14 cm

Here, diagonal of square = 14 cm

Side of a square =

Side = = 7√2 cm

Area of square = side × side

= 7√2 × 7√2

= 49 × 2 = 98 cm2

Area of circle = πr2

= × 7 × 7 = 22 × 7 = 154 cm2

Thus, the area of the circle outside the square

= Area of circle – Area of square = 154 – 98 = 56 cm2

Hence, the area of the required region is 56 cm2.
