Q. 1 C3.8( 5 Votes )

Find the distance between the points:

A(– 6, – 4) and B(9, – 12)

Answer :

In this question, we have to use the distance formula to find the distance between two points which is given by, say for points P(x1,x2) and Q(y1,y2) then

PQ = √(x2 – x1)2 + (y2 – y1)2

AB = √{(9 – (– 6))2 + (– 12 – (– 4))2}

= √{(15)2 + (– 8)2}

= √{225 + 64}

= √289

AB = 17 units
