Find the volume of the largest right circular cone that can be cut out of a cube whose edge is 9 cm.

Answer :

Given that, side of the cube = 9cm

Let radius of cone be x.

Since largest cone is curved from cube.

Diameter of base of cone = side of cube

⇒ 2x = 9

⇒ x = cm

since sides of cube are equal and cone is cut from the cube.

Maximum height of the cone can be 9 cm.


Height of cone is:

h = 9 cm

Volume of largest cone =



V = 190.92 cm3

∴ volume of largest cone, v = 190.92 cm3
