# Solve the following linear inequations in R

3x – 7 > x + 1

Answer :

Given 3x – 7 > x + 1

⇒ 3x – 7 + 7 > x + 1 + 7

⇒ 3x > x + 8

⇒ 3x – x > x + 8 – x

⇒ 2x > 8

∴ x > 4

Thus, the solution of the given inequation is (4, ∞).
