Answer :

If LHS is

(x – 4)²

Then RHS would be

⇒ (x – 4)²

= (x)² + 4² – 2 × x × 4

= x² + 16 – 8x

The error is x² + 16 – 8x instead of x² – 16

Hence (x – 4)² = x² + 13 – 8x
