Q. 43.7( 3 Votes )

If the numbers a, 9, b, 25 form an AP, find a and b.

Answer :

Since, the terms are in an AP, therefore

9 - a = b - 9 = 25 - b

Consider b - 9 = 25 - b

2b = 34

b = 17

Now, consider the first equality,

9 - a = b - 9

a = 18 - b

a = 18 - 17

a = 1

a = 1, b = 17
