# The shape of the top surface of a table is a trapezium. Find its area if its parallel sides are 1 m and 1.2 m and perpendicular distance between them is 0.8 m.

Area of trapezium = 1/2 (a + b) × h

Here, a = 1.2m, b = 1m, h = 0.8m, thus

Area = 1/2 × (1.2 + 1) × 0.8

Area = 0.5 × 2.2 × 0.8

Area = 1.1 × 0.8

Area = 0.11 × 8

= 0.88 m2
