# One side of a right-angled triangular scarf is 80 cm and its longest side is 1m. Find its cost at the rate of Rs 250 per m^{2}.

Answer :

Given sides: AC = 1m and AB = 80cm

1m = 100cm

The longest side is the hypotenuse of the triangle

Now using Pythagoras theorem to find the third side

AC^{2} = AB^{2} + BC^{2}

1 = (0.8)^{2} + BC^{2}

BC^{2} = 1 - 0.64

BC^{2} = 0.36

BC = 0.6 m

Total cost = 250 × 0.24 = Rs 60
