# Find the discriminant of each of the following equations:2x2 – 7x + 6 = 0

Answer :

Given: 2x2 – 7x + 6 = 0

Comparing with standard quadratic equation ax2 + bx + c = 0

a = 2, b = – 7, c = 6

Discriminant D = b2 – 4ac

= (– 7)2 – 4.2.6

= 49 – 48 = 1
