Solve each of the following quadratic equations:

x2 – (√3 + 1) x + √3 = 0

Answer :



On taking x common from first two terms and - 1 from last two


x(x-√3)-1(x-√3) = 0


(x-√3)(x-1) = 0


(x-√3) = 0 or (x-1) = 0


x = √3 or x = 1


Roots of equation are √3 or 1
