For specifying a straight line, how many geometrical parameters should be known?
Different form of equation of straight line are
where, a and b are the intercepts on the axis
In intercept form, we need two parameters ‘a’ and ‘b’ to specify a straight line
Slope – Intercept Form:
y = mx + c
where m = tan θ, and θ is the angle made with positive x – axis
and c is the intercept on y – axis.
So, we need two parameters ‘m’ and ‘c’ to specify a straight line.
Hence, the correct option is (b)
