# The sides forming the right angle of a right angled triangle are 7 cm and 5 cm. Find the length of its hypotenuse.

Answer :

In ∆ABC, AB = 5cm, BC = 7cm ∠B = 90°

By Pythagoras theorem

Hypotenuse^{2}= Perpendicular

^{2}+ Base

^{2}

AC^{2} = AB^{2} + BC^{2}

= (5)^{2} + (7)^{2}

= 25 + 49

= 74

Hence, AC^{2} = 74

∴ AC =
