Q. 7 B5.0( 3 Votes )

# Express the following in the form , where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0:

0.888...

Answer :

0.888…

Let 𝑥 = 0.888 …

⇒ 𝑥 = 0.8 ……………. (1)

Multiplying both sides by 10, we get

10 𝑥 = 8.8 ……………. (2)

Subtracting equation (1) from equation (2), we get

10 𝑥 − 𝑥 = 8.8 − 0.8

⇒ 9𝑥 = 8.0
