Big or small, simple or complicated, monetary or philosophical – our minds are always bent on setting some goals for our lives. It all probably starts as an inspiration, a mere dream, and soon takes the shape of the biggest target we wish to achieve. In fact, a life without goals is like a race without a finishing line – you wouldn’t even know where you are headed to, but you simply keep running.
In my early days, just like most other kids my age, I was fantasized by pilots and doctors and astronauts and what not! Every time single time that my parents called me forth to tell guests what I wanted to be, I would come up with a new, more fascinating, more interesting and rarer profession which I would think of pursuing till until a week before my mind drifted away to something else. It took me quite a few years to understand the true meaning of setting a goal for life, and how it is not connected to just fascination and rarity.
What inspires me the most and what drives me the best is the sheer expanse of our world – the diversity in its geography, culture, people, languages, cuisines and what not! Every corner of the world has a story to tell. The sheer pictures of different places at different points of the globe are enough to give anyone chills about the extent of diversity our planet has, and that is exactly where I derive my inspiration from. My goal in life is to be a traveler and see every corner of the world.
There are a few important factors which come along with goal setting in life. They are: earning money and fame, serving mankind, become a technology expert, becoming powerful like a politician and so on. Different people demand different things from life, and hence also their goals. I seek something different too. I do not crave for power or fame. Money is a necessity, and hence has to be met with if I wish to live a life of comfort. However, apart from that, what I really want from my goal is life is the ability to be free – travel and see every corner of the world, enjoy its beauty at the best, meet new people, make new friends, and not worry about the petty issues of life, which has so much to offer, after all! That is something I wish to derive from my goal in life.
