Difference between the Rowlatt Act and the Sedition Act?
The two acts are the example of the arbitrariness of the British Government in India.
Sedition Act: The Sedition Act of 1870 stated that any person protesting or criticizing the British Government would be arrested without trial. The people were not allowed to express themselves, they were not allowed to form groups and discuss, the press was not allowed to write against the government’s decision.
Rowlatt Act: As per the Act, the British Government were allowed to imprison people without due trial. The accused were not allowed to even know the reason for their arrest. The police were given to search any place or arrest any person without trial.
