Print Revolution played a significant role in transforming the lives of people. It enabled people to gain knowledge and information. It also helped people to spread their views and ideas.


Reading and Hearing Public:


1. The print culture helped the literate population to know more information.


2. They were able to access and read more books.


3. Books became more affordable as printing reduced the cost of books.


4. This enabled all sections of the public to have access to new books.


5. People who could not read started enjoying by listening to books being read out.


6. Ballads and folktales that were printed had many pictorial representations so that the illiterate population were able to make out with the pictures.


The print revolution, thus, brought the reading and hearing public closer.


Religious Debates and reforms:


1. The Print Revolution paved way for many social and religious reforms.


2. Many debates went on over widow immolation, Priesthood and idolatry.


3. Many Roman Catholic rituals and practices were openly criticised by Martin Luther, a religious reformer.


4. On the other side, print encouraged the reading of religious texts in vernacular languages.


For example, the first printed edition of Ramcharitmanas came out in the nineteenth century.


Scientists and Philosophers:


1. The Print Revolution helped the scientists and philosophers to spread their ideas.


2. It brought about a change in the thinking of the public.


Empowerment of womenfolk:


1. Print helped to bring the miseries of women to the limelight.


2. It aided in making education accessible to women.


Thus, Print Revolution made people look at things in a new way and opened a new world for them.
