2) Abdur Razzak – He was a Persian scholar who visited the kingdom of Vijaynagar at the time of Dev Raya II. He noted about the cultivated fields, gardens and houses between the walls.
3) Colin Mackenzie- He was an employee under the East India Company and also prepared the first survey map of the site. Moreover, he brought to light the ruins of Hampi in 1800
4) Dominigo Paes- He was a Portuguese merchant, and a writer. His accounts talk about Hampi and the governance of Vijaynagar Empire during the time of Krishna Deva Raya. He described about the ruins of the houses of people as well as their occupation.
