Diapause: A period of suspended development in zooplankton species.
During unfavourable conditions, zooplankton species in lakes and ponds enter a stage – diapause showing dormancy by slowing their development.
Certain mass of living material at a particular time in each trophic level. It is measured as the mass of living organisms (biomass) or number in a unit area.
