Polarization by reflection occurs when light is incident on a surface at ib, Brewster Angle where the Brewster angle should be less than the critical angle ic , otherwise total internal reflection will happen and the light will be transmitted without refraction.
Given light is incident from a medium of higher refractive index, i.e. n1>n2
Now the critical angle is , where n2<n1
Also Brewster angle is ,where n2<n1
For larger angles, , which means ib<ic
i.e. Polarisation will occur.
