X g of CH3COONa → 500ml of solution


= 0.1875 moles

Mass of Sodium acetate required to make 500ml solution = Number of moles of CH3COONa × Molecular Mass of CH3COONa

= 82.0245× 0.1875

= 15.379g

≈ 15.38g

Therefore 15.38g of CH3COONa is required to make 500ml of solution.
