Bile juice does n
Bile is a liver-secreted digestive juice. While no digestive enzymes are present in it, it plays an important role in the digestion of fats. There are bile salts in bile juice, such as bilirubin and biliverdin. These break down into smaller globules of large fat globules so that the pancreatic enzymes can act on them easily. This method is referred to as fat emulsification. Bile juice also makes the medium alkaline and activates lipase.
The separation keeps oxygenated and deoxygenated blood from mixing allowing a highly efficient supply of oxygen to the body. This is useful in animals that have high energy needs (birds and mammals) which constantly use energy to maintain their body temperature.
