Height of water flow = 100 m3s–1

Efficiency of turbine n = 60%

Acceleration due to gravity g = 9.8 ms–2

Density of water = 103Kg/m3

The electric power available from the plant is given by the relation:

h × η × р × g × V

substituting the values, we get

300m × 0.6 × 103 × 9.8ms–2 × 100 m3s–1 = 176.4 MW
