Answer the follow
(a) Civil services, army and the police were the three major pillars of the British administration in India.
(b) There were three systems under which the payment of land revenue was collected in the British rule :
I) In Zamindari system 89% of the tax belong to the british government leaving the rest for zamindars
II) In Rjotwari system the tax was personally collected from the peasants by the government
III) In Mahalwari system the village committee was held responsible for collection of taxes eliminating the middle men.
(c) TISCO - the iron and steel company was started by Jamshedji Tata at Jamshedpur in 1907.
