Answer :

The voice of conscience is an intuition or a gut feeling. Most of the times, when we act against our conscience, the resulting consequence is suffering. So many say that we must act according to our intuition. This voice often defies what we have been taught through our education. It goes against our learning and logic. And we therefore end up ignoring it, only to regret it later. In the poem ‘The Snake’, the poet also acts against his voice of conscience. When he sees a snake, his voice wants him to welcome it and treat it with respect. But, this goes against his education, which says that he should feel threatened by it. He lets the voice of his education preside over his conscience and throws a log at the snake and regrets his actions later.

Dedication and hard work are indeed essential for success. In the chapter, Patol Babu gets offered an insignificant role in a film with a monosyllabic dialogue. However, he practices very hard on his one-word dialogue. He remembers the words of his teacher who had once told him to always work hard and never consider any role below his dignity. He then goes to a corner and starts working on his tone, expression, and body language for his one-word dialogue. When the scene was finally shot, his flawless performance gains the praise of the entire crew.
