Answer :

Alkyl halide reacts with Lithium aluminium hydride to give alkane.



Mechanism:



In step 2, we can see that hydride ion (H-) attacks the alkyl group and is responsible for the replacement of Cl atom.


Hence, hydride ion is the attacking reagent which will bring out this change.
