Q. 153.7( 3 Votes )

# A stone is dropped from a cliff. Its speed after it has fallen 100 m is:

A. 9.8 ms^{-1}

B. 44.2 ms^{-1}

C. 19.69 ms^{-1}

D. 98 ms^{-1}

Answer :

The stone is dropped from the cliff. So,

Initial Speed = u = 0

Distance = s = 100 m

Final Speed = v

Acceleration = a = g = 9.8 ms^{-2}

Now,

v = 44.27 ms^{-1}

Hence, option B is correct.
