Q. 26

# A motorcyclist drives from point A to point B with a uniform speed of 30 km h^{–1} and returns back to point A with a uniform speed of 20 km h^{–1}. Find the average speed of the motorcyclist.

Answer :

Let distance from A to B = x Km

Time to go from A to B i.e. t_{1} = x/30 hours

Time to return from B to A i.e. t_{2} = x/20 hours

Total time = t_{1} + t_{2}

= hours

Average Speed =

=

= 24 km/h
