# A 3 cm tall object is placed at a distance of 7.5 cm from a convex mirror of focal length 6 cm. Find the location, size and nature of the image.

Answer :

cm from the mirror on the side opposite to the object, 1.33 cm, virtual and erect

height of the object, h_{1}= 3cm

The distance of the object from the mirror, u= 7.5cm

Since the object is placed beyond the mirror, the distance is taken as negative (sign convention)

Focal length of the mirror, f= 6cm

Using mirror formula,

Magnification m = -

HC Verma - Concepts of Physics Part 1A double convex lens has focal length 25 cm. The radius of curvature of one of the surfaces is double of the other. Find the radii, if the refractive index of the material of the lens is 1.5.

HC Verma - Concepts of Physics Part 1The focal length of a converging lens are f_{v} and f_{r} for violet and red light respectively.

A ball is kept at a height *h* above the surface of a heavy transparent sphere made of a material of refractive index μ. The radius of the sphere is *R*. At *t* = 0, the ball is dropped to fall normally on the sphere. Find the speed of the image formed as a function of time for t<. Consider only the image by a single refraction.
