# A 150 g ball, travelling at 30 m/s, strikes the palm of a player’s hand and is stopped in 0.05 second. Find the force exerted by the ball on the hand.

Mass of ball = 150g = 0.15kg

Initial velocity, u = 30 m/s

Final velocity, v = 0m/s (as player stops the ball)

Time, t = 0.05s (as player stops ball in 0.05s)

Force, F = m x a

F = m x v-u/t

F = 0.15 x 0-30/0.05

F = 3 x -30

F = -90 N
